Lead High-Impact Lifting Operations On One Of The UK's Most Complex Nuclear Construction Projects.

If you join us, you can play your part as a Lifting Construction Manager at Hinkley Point C, near Bridgwater, Somerset. This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance works across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station's vast network of rooms.
The role involves taking ownership of all rigging and lifting operations across a major nuclear new build programme. This is a senior leadership position where your expertise will directly influence safety, productivity, and delivery across a complex, multi-building construction environment. This is a full-time role, working 37 hours per week and based at our Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset site.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Leading rigging and lifting teams through superintendents, driving performance and accountability
- Driving productivity, attendance, and working standards across the workforce
- Owning forward planning, including 16-week lookahead schedules for lifting activities
- Forecasting labour requirements and aligning resources to programme delivery
- Promoting a strong nuclear safety culture through leadership, inspections, and compliance
Essential experience includes:
- Significant experience leading lifting and rigging operations on major construction projects
- Demonstrating senior leadership capability managing large teams in high-pressure environments
- Operating within highly regulated or high hazard industries such as nuclear, defence or infrastructure
- Managing workforce performance, productivity frameworks and delivery targets
- Collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders across complex project environments
Qualifications required:
- CPCS Blue Card and ECITB Appointed Person certification (TAP01) - essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Steel Erecting or Moving Loads - desirable
- IOSH, SMSTS or SSSTS safety qualifications - desirable
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
