Train to maintain life saving aviation equipment in a safety critical environment.
The Role
As a Survival Equipment Technician, you'll follow a structured training programme combining classroom learning, practical instruction, and on the job experience. Over time, you'll develop the skills and knowledge required to inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of survival and aircrew equipment, working to strict airworthiness and safety standards.
Day-to-day, you will be:
- Carrying out maintenance inspections, repairs, and component changes on survival and aircrew equipment
- Following approved airworthiness, air safety, and quality procedures in a safety critical environment
- Completing documentation accurately to support compliance and traceability
- Working closely with engineering colleagues, customers, and stakeholders
- Progressing through structured training and on the job development to achieve technician competence.
This is a full time, onsite role, primarily based in Glasgow, with travel to other sites for training and tasking as required.
Essential experience
- Practical, hands on mindset with strong problem solving skills
- Confidence communicating in different settings and with a range of stakeholders
- Customer facing experience or teamwork in a service environment
- High attention to detail and a commitment to working safely.
Qualifications
- GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in Maths and English, or equivalent
- Basic IT literacy and confidence using computer systems
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (EDBS) / Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
