As a Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be part of a skilled and dedicated team responsible for maintaining and repairing military vehicles and electrical equipment. Your work directly supports the UK's defence capability, giving this a career with real purpose and impact.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Servicing, repairing, and overhauling military vehicles and electrical systems.
- Completing documentation and test certificates to current standards; ensuring correct use of stores and returning unused or faulty items.
- Creating job cards and requesting materials using ERP (SAP) systems.
- Diagnosing, inspecting, and assessing vehicles and associated equipment.
- Successful completion of a targeted medical questionnaire and/or examination is required.
- Manual work involves lifting, bending, using tools, or standing for extended periods of time.
This is a full‑time, 37‑hour week role based onsite at DSG Aldershot, Surrey. A relocation package may be available subject to eligibility.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience in a similar mechanical role.
- Hydraulics experience.
- Experience in a dealership or local garage.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt and build rapport across teams.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Service and Repair.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance. Roles may be subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
