As a Integrated Logistics Support Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands‑on, practical engineer with a passion for developing innovative solutions to complex Integrated Product Support (IPS) challenges. You will be the crucial link between engineering design and operational support, ensuring that systems within the remit of TLES (Through Life Equipment Support) are maintained, reliable, and cost‑efficient throughout their lifecycle.
Day‑to‑day, you'll capture and analyse system requirements and performance data to drive maintenance, repair, and overhaul strategies. Please note that this position involves travel/working across a range of internal and customer sites, as a requirement of the role. This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel across a range of internal and customer sites on a weekly/monthly basis alongside home‑working arrangements. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determining, developing, and delivering project IPS strategies, plans, and reports in conjunction with service and project deliverables.
- Collaborating with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to provide product and system supportability reporting and assurance.
- Evaluating lifecycle costs and recommending solutions that enhance system reliability while minimizing downtime.
- Developing detailed maintenance plans, technical manuals, and training programs that ensure our processes and products meet national, Babcock, and MOD standards.
- Supporting engineering in producing Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD), and Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) information.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience contributing to bid responses, understanding customer requirements, estimating costs, and providing bid content such as ILS/IPS plans and working to ASD/AIA SX000i.
- Experience in the service support of low‑volume, high‑value products and systems in a highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge and experience of through‑life support standards.
- Experience working with customers in a matrix‑managed team.
- Good knowledge of MOD support frameworks and experience applying them as a supplier.
- We value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education; provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn, we would like to hear from you. However, a degree or HND/HNC qualified in electrical or mechanical engineering, or relevant experience in the defence industry, is desirable.
- Ability to achieve and maintain SC security clearance.
Benefits:
- Generous holiday allowance.
- Matched contribution pension scheme, with life assurance.
- Access to a Digital GP, annual health check, and nutritional consultations through Aviva DigiCare+.
- Employee shopping savings portal.
- Payment of Professional Fees.
- Reservists in the armed forces receive 10‑days special paid leave.
- Holiday Trading allows UK Babcock employees to buy additional leave or to sell up to one working week of annual leave from their entitlement; this window opens February through March annually.
- 'Be Kind Day' enables employees to take one working day’s paid leave a year, or equivalent hours, to undertake volunteering work with their chosen organisation or registered charity.
