The Role

As a Skilled Plater you will have the opportunity to join a world leading team specialising in fabricating large assemblies to small tolerances for the defence industry.

Day-to-day, you\’ll be working in a small but highly effective team where the highest of standards will be expected from both a technical and behavioural perspective.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Plating/Fabrication of large high strength, quenched and tempered Steel assemblies for the defence industry.
• Fabrication of assemblies used for lifting and handling in the defence industry.
• Experience of flame cutting/profiling, rolling, press brake.
• Fabrication from design drawing and CAD modelling.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale, Bristol.

Essential experience of the Skilled Plater

• Time served apprenticeship or similar in plating/fabrication.
• Working to high quality standards.
• Capable of reading complex fabrication drawings.
• CAD experience desirable.
• Experience of fabrication/plating in the defence industry is desirable.
• Lifting and Slinging experience and associated qualification beneficial.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. However, you will be eligible to start on Standard (BPSS) security clearance but will need to obtain Security Check once in post.
