The role:
- As a Senior Project Manager, you'll play a critical role in delivering complex projects that support the UK's defence capability.
- Working across a diverse portfolio, you'll lead projects through their full lifecycle, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Day-to-day, you'll be required to:
- Lead complex projects through all phases of the project lifecycle from initiation through to close-out.
- Manage project scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality, safety and risk to achieve agreed objectives.
- Build strong relationships with customers, project teams and key stakeholders to support successful delivery.
- Establish effective governance arrangements, roles, responsibilities and project controls.
- Develop and mentor project professionals while driving continuous improvement across project delivery activities.
The role is based onsite at Donnington, and the set working times are Monday to Friday, totalling 37 hours per week. Weekly travel to other Babcock and customer sites will be expected, including visits to Devonport, Plymouth, Warminster and Field Army locations as required.
Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager:
- Extensive recent experience delivering projects within a complex engineering, defence, infrastructure or comparable environment.
- Proven experience managing projects through the full lifecycle from bid phase to project completion.
- Strong understanding of project governance, performance reporting and project controls.
- Experience managing customer relationships, stakeholder engagement and project risks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
Qualifications for the Senior Project Manager:
- APM Project Management Qualification (APM PMQ), or willingness to attain within 12 months.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or a related discipline is desirable.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
