As a Health and Safety Representative you will support operational management teams to embed strong Health, Safety and Environmental (HS&E) practices across our Defence estate. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence cultural change, shape safe ways of working and ensure compliance with HS&E standards that protect our people and sites. You will work closely with site staff, managers and the Defence Equipment HSE Team to deliver meaningful improvement and best practice.
Responsibilities
- Support operational teams with managing HS&E risks and ensuring safe systems of work
- Collaborate with site management to implement HS&E standards and achieve site safety objectives
- Work under the guidance of the Defence Equipment HSE Team to deliver HS&E requirements and initiatives
- Engage proactively with site staff to promote positive HS&E behaviours and best practice
- Maintain accurate HS&E records, including reporting, documentation and compliance activities
The role is site based across Donnington and Ashchurch, working a blended pattern of two days per week at each location. Fridays can be worked either from home or from a site office. Occasional support to other sites will also be required.
Essential Experience
- Considerable experience in a full-time operations role
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience producing clear, concise reports
Qualifications
- Full UK driving licence
- Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role. Certain positions may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, citizenship or residency.
