Overview

As a Safety Engineer, you'll support the safety of nuclear and radiological facilities that enable the Royal Navy to operate safely and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expert advice on nuclear and radiological safety
  • Supporting safety case development for the 9 Dock Design and Safety Engineering team
  • Advising on safety analysis underpinning Devonport Royal Dockyard Limited (DRDL) safety cases
  • Contributing to the transformation and sustainability of Devonport Dockyard
  • Building and maintaining knowledge of submarine systems and reactor plant performance

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering or Science discipline
  • Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership
  • Experience in safety engineering or design
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Knowledge of submarine systems (advantageous)
  • Experience within the nuclear sector (advantageous)
  • A drive to own and shape your career development journey

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
