Working within our Mission Systems business, you'll join a growing team delivering critical communications infrastructure that supports defence operations and global connectivity. The role
As a Rigger, you'll play a vital role in installing, maintaining and supporting antenna systems and associated infrastructure. From working at height on advanced communication systems to ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently, your work will directly contribute to keeping vital networks running.
Day-to-day, you'll be:
- Constructing, installing, maintaining and inspecting antenna and feeder systems, support structures and related rigging equipment to a standard that does not impair the service and is cost‑effective.
- Applying safety practices correctly and maintaining safety equipment to agreed standards.
- Prepared to undertake work away from base, in the UK & overseas, sometimes at short notice.
- Prepared to attend work at short notice out of normal working time.
- Demonstrating flexibility by multi‑skilling in other departments when necessary.
This role is full time, 37 hours and is based on site at Inskip, Preston.
Essential experience of the Rigger
- Climbing experience and thorough knowledge of rigging practices.
- Advanced climber qualification or equivalent.
- Experience interpreting antenna and support structure drawings.
- Experience using hand and power tools, abrasive wheels and specialist rigging equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations relating to rigging work and RF hazards and understanding of LOLER 98.
Qualifications for the Rigger
- Qualified tractor and forklift driver.
- Ability to write risk assessments and method statements.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Sole UK National. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
