A Quality Practitioner - Governance and Assurance is an intermediate-level professional role in the Quality Governance and Assurance discipline of the Quality role family. This role requires an expanded level of knowledge and experience of professional practice in this discipline, representing the first degree of progression from an entry-level role. This role applies discipline domain knowledge, experience, and judgement to undertake a range of professional assignments. This role will work within established procedures and guidance, under supervision from management roles or senior grade professionals.

The role involves:
- Providing quality assurance guidance to project stakeholders across planning, delivery, installation and commissioning.
- Supporting the development and review of Quality Management Plans and Inspection and Test Plans.
- Monitoring quality activities across projects and supply chain, ensuring compliance with standards and requirements.
- Reviewing and assuring Life Time Quality Records to confirm design intent and compliance.
- Supporting senior quality engineers in delivering assurance across the full project lifecycle.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience:
- Experience applying quality assurance and quality control techniques within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory frameworks, including ISO 9001.
- Understanding of document control, change management and continuous improvement processes.
- Aware of statutory and regulatory requirements relating to quality assurance.
- Experience working with supply chains and project-based teams.
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in an engineering or quality discipline.
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline.
- Knowledge or experience of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems.
Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
