The role

As a Project Quality Lead, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that some of the UK’s most advanced engineering programmes continue to meet the highest standards of safety, performance and regulatory compliance. This is a role with real purpose your leadership will ensure quality throughout critical manufacturing processes and help shape a culture where excellence is embedded in everything we do.

Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:

  • Lead and support the Quality Programme for Advance Manufacturing, ensuring outputs meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee all quality assurance and quality control deliverables, ensuring they are completed as per contractual and schedule obligations.
  • Serve as the main quality contact for customers and internal stakeholders, managing daily liaison and investigating concerns.
  • Govern key quality processes including audits, non‑conformance management, corrective and preventative actions, and certification/handover requirements.
  • Positive mentoring of team members, and championing a strong quality culture across the organisation,influencing teams at all levels.

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.

Essential experience of the Project Quality Lead

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Proven experience in legal and regulatory compliance within a regulated environment.
  • Demonstrable background in quality assurance and quality control.
  • Experience managing or supervising teams within a technical or engineering environment.

Qualifications for the Project Quality Lead

  • HNC (or equivalent) in Engineering, Welding, Manufacturing or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of welding and manufacturing processes.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering QA/QC activities in a leadership capacity.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC & PSA) security clearance for this role.
