If you're passionate about improving how teams make decisions under uncertainty—and want to influence real outcomes—this is an opportunity to play a central role in Babcock’s mission-critical delivery environment.

About the Role

As Project Manager (Risk), you’ll work within Babcock’s central Risk function, partnering with project and program teams to strengthen how risk is identified, understood, and managed across the delivery lifecycle. You’ll contribute to both hands-on project support and broader capability uplift, helping teams make better decisions with clearer insight into threats and opportunities. This role offers a mix of autonomy, collaboration, and influence, with scope to shape how risk is applied across the organisation.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Partner with project teams to support effective risk management across complex programs
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of Risk (Threat & Opportunity) Management Plans
  • Facilitate risk workshops, reviews, and conversations that drive practical action
  • Provide guidance on integrating risk with project controls, governance, and decision-making
  • Support consistent application of enterprise frameworks, tools, and processes
  • Develop clear and insightful reporting for stakeholders at different levels
  • Help assess and improve risk maturity across projects
  • Contribute to capability uplift through coaching, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement

About You

You bring a thoughtful, structured approach to problem-solving and enjoy working with others to navigate uncertainty. You may already have strong experience in risk management, or you may be building depth through related areas such as project controls, assurance, governance, or delivery.

You’ll thrive here if you:

  • Are comfortable analysing complex situations and identifying what matters most
  • Communicate clearly and can tailor your message to different audiences
  • Build trusted relationships and collaborate well with diverse stakeholders
  • Are confident asking questions and offering constructive challenge
  • Enjoy learning, improving, and helping others build capability
  • Can balance detail with a broader strategic perspective

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in risk management or a related discipline (e.g. project management, controls, assurance, engineering, or governance)
  • Understanding of how risks and opportunities impact project outcomes
  • Ability to interpret information and translate it into practical insights
  • Relevant qualification (or equivalent experience) in a related discipline
  • Eligibility for an Australian or NZ Defence Security Clearance based on site location
