The role:

As an Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll play a vital role in the safe, compliant and innovative design and delivery of electrical and control systems across the nuclear project lifecycle. From early concept design through to commissioning and decommissioning, your work will directly support regulatory compliance, safety case integration and technical excellence on some of the UK's most critical programmes.

Day-to-day, you'll be required to:

  • Design and develop electrical, control and instrumentation systems for regulated nuclear projects
  • Ensure designs meet safety, regulatory and technical standards throughout the project lifecycle
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver integrated technical solutions
  • Support testing, commissioning and acceptance of systems to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Engage with clients, regulators and supply chain partners to support successful project delivery

This is a full time role working 37 hours per week, based at any of our main Cavendish locations including Warrington, Bristol, Leicester, Humberside or Cumbria. Hybrid working patterns are available, with a minimum of working 3 days on site.

Essential experience of the EC&I Engineer:

  • Experience designing and delivering electrical, control and instrumentation systems within regulated industries
  • Knowledge of safety, compliance and governance requirements in high hazard environments
  • Familiarity with control systems, including programmable logic controllers, supervisory control and data acquisition and instrumentation software
  • Experience working in project based environments, including documentation, testing and commissioning
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when working with internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications for the EC&I Engineer:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in an electrical, control, instrumentation or related engineering discipline
  • Working towards, or willingness to work towards, professional engineering registration (preferred)

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
