The role
We are looking for a versatile Systems Configuration Specialist to help operate, improve and secure our enterprise endpoint management and infrastructure monitoring services. The role can suit an experienced specialist in Microsoft Intune, System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) or Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), with the interest and ability to develop across the wider technology set.
You will work across operational support, service improvement, automation, compliance and technical change. You will help ensure that devices and infrastructure are securely configured, effectively monitored, patched and supported, while providing clear technical insight to operational, security and project teams.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Operate, maintain and improve one or more of the organisation’s Microsoft systems management platforms: Intune, SCOM and Configuration Manager.
- Monitor service health, investigate faults and performance issues, and drive incidents through to resolution.
- Plan, test and implement platform, policy, management pack, application, update and configuration changes through the change management process.
- Facilitate and executing approved vulnerability patches and software updates across the estate.
- Deploy system changes through established change management processes.
This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.
Essential experience of the Systems Configuration Specialist
- Substantial hands‑on experience supporting a large, complex Microsoft infrastructure or endpoint estate.
- Demonstrable administration experience in at least one of Microsoft Intune, SCOM or Configuration Manager.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows client and server operating systems, applications, networking and identity dependencies.
- Experience of PowerShell or another relevant scripting language for administration, automation or monitoring.
- Experience working within incident, problem, change and service management processes, including delivery against SLAs and KPIs.
