As a Business Support Manager, you'll play a key role in enabling the effective delivery of nuclear programmes by providing structured business support across operational, governance and performance activities. This is an opportunity to work at the centre of programme delivery, ensuring processes run smoothly, stakeholders are supported, and key business priorities are achieved. Day‑to‑day, you'll contribute to the safe and efficient operation of one of the UK's most important defence and nuclear environments, while developing your leadership and operational management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the coordination of business operations to ensure effective programme delivery
  • Managing governance activities, including reporting, planning and performance tracking
  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to improve processes and efficiency
  • Providing oversight and organisation of business support functions across the team
  • Ensuring compliance with nuclear, regulatory and company standards

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based at Devonport Royal Dockyard. A Business Support Specialist is an intermediate‑level professional role in the Business Support discipline of the Business Support role family. This role requires an expanded level of knowledge and experience of professional practice in this discipline, representing the first degree of progression from an entry‑level role. This role applies discipline domain knowledge, experience, and judgement to undertake a range of professional assignments. This role will work within established procedures and guidance, under supervision from management roles or senior grade professionals.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in a business support, operations or coordination role
  • Experience working within a regulated or complex environment (e.g., nuclear, engineering, defence)
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver against deadlines
  • Experience supporting governance, reporting or operational processes
