As a Business Support Specialist – Security, you'll play a key role in enabling the effective delivery of engineering and infrastructure programmes by providing essential business support services. Working within the Facilities Engineering team, you'll help ensure that processes, systems, and governance are aligned to support operational performance and continuous improvement. Day-to-day, you'll contribute to information management, governance, and business processes, while also supporting team leadership activities. You'll work closely with engineering, planning and project teams, gaining exposure to complex defence programmes and building valuable experience across business operations and project support functions.

Responsibilities

  • Providing guidance on security, governance, and business processes within the Facilities Engineering function.
  • Supporting information management, reporting, and production of management information across engineering teams.
  • Assisting with management and coordination of business support and administration services.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across engineering operations to ensure consistent and effective ways of working.
  • Deputising for the Business Support Manager where required.
  • Providing full‑time support (35 hours per week) and participating in hybrid working arrangements.

Essential Experience

  • Strong experience using Microsoft Office applications in a professional environment.
  • Experience working with document management systems and information processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience supporting business operations, administration or project environments.

Qualifications

  • HNC in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience (essential).

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be a sole UK national with the ability to achieve and maintain Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information (NNPPI) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and trade control restrictions. Eligibility may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
