The Role

As a Driver, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, supporting the smooth running of two key RAF sites. This is more than just a driving role — it’s an opportunity to contribute to national defence and work alongside multinational forces, making a real impact every day. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that keeps essential services moving, ensuring operational readiness and supporting both military and civilian personnel.

Day-to-day you’ll be responsible for:

  • Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting faults using correct documentation.
  • Loading, unloading, and securing various types of cargo.
  • Supporting logistics operations across both RAF sites.
  • Collaborating with MOD personnel, foreign forces, and contracted civilians.
  • Ensuring compliance with driving hours and tachograph regulations.

This is a full-time, permanent position based onsite at RAF Cranwell and RAF Digby. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 39 hours per week and travel across the UK may be required, with overnight stays fully covered.

Essential Experience

  • Previous experience in mechanical transport or logistics.
  • Familiarity with vehicle inspections and maintenance protocols.
  • Understanding of tachograph usage and driving regulations.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (work-related or otherwise).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Clean Cat B driving licence.
  • Category D licence.
  • Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC).
  • Ability to pass a colour perception test.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain SC security clearance for this role.
