At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. We're looking for a Transport Planner to join our Aviation business, based at RAF Cranwell, Lincolnshire (LN4 3LH), supporting military transport and MT operations. This is a key operational coordination role, ensuring drivers, vehicles, and tasking are scheduled and controlled safely, compliantly, and efficiently in line with MOD, civilian, and company requirements.
As a Transport Planner, you’ll support the day‑to‑day planning and allocation of transport tasks, working closely with the MT Controller, drivers, and wider station stakeholders. You’ll help ensure full compliance with transport legislation, licensing, and operational procedures while maintaining high service and safety standards.
Day‑to‑day responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily transport tasking, driver allocation, and duty rosters
- Ensure drivers are correctly licensed, qualified, and compliant before tasking
- Check vehicle documentation and complete required pre‑departure and arrival checks
- Support compliance with MOD, civilian transport legislation, and operator licence requirements
- Work with the MT Controller to maintain safe, effective transport operations
This is a full‑time, permanent role, working Monday to Thursday 08:00‑17:00 and Friday 08:00‑16:00, based at RAF Cranwell, Lincolnshire.
Essential experience:
- A well‑organised coordinator with strong attention to detail
- Confidence working in a regulated or safety‑critical environment
- Clear communication skills and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders
- A proactive, calm approach to managing changing priorities
Qualifications:
- Full, clean UK driving licence (Category B)
- Category C or D licence is desirable but not essential
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
