The role involves carrying out aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance, and all associated activities to ensure aircraft are safe, serviceable and ready to meet customer and contractual requirements. Working with a team of Mechanical and Avionic Engineers, you'll support the generation and release to service of aircraft in accordance with civilian regulations and Babcock approvals.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering aircraft maintenance in line with regulatory, safety and company requirements.
- Leading and supporting technicians and inspectors during maintenance activities.
- Conducting fault diagnosis and problem-solving within a technical engineering environment.
- Ensuring all engineering activities comply with legislation, procedures and customer expectations.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues, the Site Operations Manager and wider stakeholders to maintain operational output.
Full-time working is 40 hours per week, based at RAF Wittering, Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. You will be working on a 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, including weekends. Shifts typically run 07:30–19:30, and patterns may vary depending on operational needs.
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role. Many positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
Qualifications required include:
- Knowledge of MOD Engineering procedures and documentation.
- Supervisory experience within a civil or military aviation environment.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- CAA Part 66 B1.2 Licence (essential).
- B3 Licence (accepted).
- Human Factors qualification (desirable).
- Recognised SHE qualification (desirable).
- Defence industry experience (desirable).
- Type Rating on Grob 115E aircraft and Lycoming 360 engines (desirable).
