The role
As an EC&I Production Coordinator, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You lead the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of electrical, control and instrumentation production activities across a diverse portfolio of clean energy and nuclear engineering projects. This is a role with real purpose—your work will support nationally significant programmes, contribute to energy security and help shape a more sustainable future.
This role is based at Whetstone. You work 37 hours per week. The set working times are Monday to Thursday 07:30–16:00 and Friday 07:30–12:00.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Lead safe systems of work by setting personnel to task, overseeing production and role-modelling safety, environmental stewardship and Cavendish Nuclear values.
- Review planning, risk assessments and work controls, while delivering weekly toolbox talks to align teams on key safety measures.
- Provide effective leadership to EC&I production teams, engaging SQEP personnel, managing performance, supporting recruitment and fostering an inclusive culture.
- Coordinate production activities to ensure workflow efficiency, asset security and strong collaboration with internal engineering and project teams.
- Drive continuous improvement by promoting best-practice manufacturing approaches, supporting estimates for future work and enabling teams to meet customer commitments.
Essential experience of the EC&I Production Coordinator:
- Experience in a supervising or leadership role within an engineering, electrical or mechatronics environment.
- Background in mechatronics, electrical engineering, instrumentation or similar technical disciplines.
- Experience promoting safe working practices and delivering work within regulated or safety-critical environments.
- Experience coaching, mentoring or developing multi-disciplinary technical teams.
- Ability to plan, organise and coordinate resources across concurrent work activities.
Qualifications for the EC&I Production Coordinator:
- HNC or HND in an electrical discipline or a relevant management qualification.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
