If you join us, you can play your part as a Lead Site Co-ordination and Installation Design Authority Engineer at Colerne and Hawthorn near Corsham, Wiltshire and Oakhanger, near Bordon, Hampshire.
The role involves supporting one of the United Kingdom's most critical military satellite communications networks. You will oversee complex configuration and installation activities, ensuring infrastructure is compliant, secure, and built to the highest standards.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of defence and aerospace engineering, where every decision you make supports secure communications used to protect the nation. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, influence engineering design and delivery, and enhance your expertise in highly regulated, technically advanced environments.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Configuration control for all engineering installation activities at communication sites
- Liaising with all stakeholders, internal and external for proposed configuration changes
- Allocating equipment, room, rack and floor space, quality control of all installations work carried out at sites
- Ensuring compliance with appropriate standards (ISO & JSP)
- Ensuring the Configuration Management for all ICT projects is captured, catalogued and maintained
- Quality assessment of all ICT projects to ensure the installation/changes comply with the design and required standards
- Final authorisation on project completion (Certificate of Conformity)
- Ensure suitable CMDB processes are completed to maintain the Configuration Management of all hardware and software across the communication estate
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides an element of hybrid working but will also need to travel between sites. There will be regular travel between our Colerne, Hawthorn and Oakhanger sites.
Essential experience:
- Experience in an SCIDA role within a Defence setting
- An understanding of security architecture required within compartmented certified environments
- Experience of ICT systems in complex environments
- Knowledge of JSP 604, 440 and relevant BS EN standards
- Experience creating, maintaining, and cataloguing Configuration Management documentation
Qualifications:
- CIDA training or evidence of working in a SCIDA role
- Security clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. Must be Sole UK National.
