Overview
As an IT Technical Administrator, you\’ll be the go to person for Technical Support across our site, ensuring our systems run efficiently and securely. You\\\’ll play a vital role in supporting users, maintaining infrastructure, and delivering reliable IT services that underpin our operations. This is a hands on role where your problem solving skills and technical expertise will make a real difference both to our people and to the wider mission of national defence. Day-to-day, you\\\’ll provide hands on technical support to users onsite at RSME Medway, resolving hardware and software issues, managing helpdesk tickets, deploying IT equipment, and maintaining telephony and WiFi systems. You\\\’ll also handle user account administration, document solutions, and follow procedures for server maintenance to ensure smooth and secure IT operations.
Responsibilities
- Providing first and second-line desktop support for hardware, software, and operating systems
- Managing the helpdesk queue and resolving issues in line with KPIs
- Issuing and deploying IT hardware, including laptops and telephony systems
- Maintaining user accounts and updating asset registers
- Following procedures to power down and restart servers when required
- This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and is based on site at RSME Medway.
- Experience supporting Windows 10/11 and Microsoft Office
- Proven ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving licence
- No specific qualifications listed, but relevant IT certifications or training would be advantageous
- The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
