The role

As an Inventory Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the right equipment and spare parts are available at the right time to support critical defence and engineering operations. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects by optimising inventory levels, supporting operational readiness, and working collaboratively across teams and suppliers. You will be part of a supportive and fast-paced environment, using data and systems to improve supply chain performance while developing valuable skills in logistics, procurement, and inventory management. Your work will directly support operational efficiency and national infrastructure, helping to keep vital services running smoothly.
This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based on-site at Donnington, Shropshire.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Manage inventory levels to ensure stock availability meets operational demand and performance targets.
- Use data and systems to raise and track purchase orders in line with business priorities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and equipment.
- Monitor supplier performance and progressing orders to meet availability and service expectations.
- Support continuous improvement by maintaining best practices in inventory and provisioning processes.
Essential experience of the Inventory Clerk:
- Using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Communicating clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Working collaboratively and building relationships across different levels of an organisation.
- Organising work and prioritising tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
