The role
As an Airworthiness Engineer, you will play a vital part in ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of airworthiness services across Babcock’s fleet. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of aircraft, supporting critical aviation operations while developing your technical expertise and growing your influence across a busy and collaborative engineering environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll have the following responsibilities:
- Delivering safe, efficient and cost‑effective airworthiness services to Babcock and customer fleets.
- Managing technical requests, including repair schemes, using manufacturer and regulatory data.
- Reviewing and administering oil analysis reports to support ongoing condition monitoring.
- Managing and developing engine health monitoring in line with manufacturer requirements.
- Supporting the achievement of contractual commitments and key performance targets.
You will work Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00, onsite at Gloucestershire Airport, with occasional travel required. Your work will directly support operational safety, regulatory compliance, fleet reliability and ongoing capability improvement across our aviation programmes.
Essential experience of the Airworthiness Engineer:
- Experience delivering airworthiness services within an aviation environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including data manipulation and Excel‑based reporting.
- Experience engaging stakeholders and presenting to senior managers.
- Team leadership experience in any setting (not required to be work‑based).
Qualifications for the Airworthiness Engineer:
- Aircraft engineering experience, including systems knowledge, maintenance processes and standards.
- Part 66 qualification.
- Line and base maintenance experience.
- (Desirable) Current knowledge of EASA Part M, Part 145 and BCAR regulations.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
