The Role
As a Survival Equipment Technician, you'll follow a structured training programme combining classroom learning, practical instruction, and on the job experience. Over time, you'll develop the skills and knowledge required to inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of survival and aircrew equipment, working to strict airworthiness and safety standards.
Day-to-day, you will be:
- Carrying out maintenance inspections, repairs, and component changes on survival and aircrew equipment
- Following approved airworthiness, air safety, and quality procedures in a safety critical environment
- Completing documentation accurately to support compliance and traceability
- Working closely with engineering colleagues, customers, and stakeholders
- Progressing through structured training and on the job development to achieve technician competence.
This is a full time, onsite role, primarily based in Glasgow, with travel to other sites for training and tasking as required.
Essential experience
- Practical, hands on mindset with strong problem solving skills
- Confidence communicating in different settings and with a range of stakeholders
- Customer facing experience or teamwork in a service environment
- High attention to detail and a commitment to working safely.
Qualifications
- GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in Maths and English, or equivalent
- Basic IT literacy and confidence using computer systems
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (EDBS) / Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
