The role
As a Site Operative, you will play a key part in supporting the operational readiness of live fire-training environments used by the London Fire Brigade. You will help ensure specialist training facilities are clean, safe, and fully prepared so frontline firefighters can develop the skills they need to respond to real-world emergencies. This hands-on, fast-paced role offers the opportunity to work in a unique environment that directly supports public safety and emergency response.
Day-to-day, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain training facilities, including fire houses, burn rooms, rigs and equipment
- Carry out routine checks, basic maintenance, and pre-use inspections, including safety and compliance paperwork
- Set up apparatus and training environments, including preparing burn rooms and supporting instructors during exercises
- Follow all site safety procedures, PPE requirements and safe systems of work
- Assist the Site Operations team, supporting the Lead Operative and Site Manager with daily operational tasks.
This is a full-time onsite role working 40 hours per week based at Park Royal, London. Shift patterns include working Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work required.
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role.
