The role: As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial management of projects from contract award through to completion, ensuring strong financial control, effective contract management, and successful project delivery. This role offers hands-on experience across cost control, contract administration, and commercial reporting on vital rail projects.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Support commercial management of projects, including cost tracking and reporting.
- Prepare and submit applications for payment, variations, and change requests.
- Assist with subcontractor procurement and contract administration.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
- Attend project meetings and help track risks and opportunities.
Full-time role, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working (3 days onsite, 2 from home).
Essential experience:
- Experience in a commercial, quantity surveying, estimating, or contract administration role.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Basic understanding of contracts and commercial processes.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent) or working towards a relevant qualification.
