The role

As a Plumber, you'll play a vital role in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and reliability of essential facilities across the estate. Working as part of a close knit team, you'll deliver both planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of mechanical systems, from water services to heating and drainage. This is a hands-on role where your expertise directly supports operational readiness while offering you the opportunity to further develop your technical skills in a dynamic engineering environment.

Day-to-day, you'll be required to:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance, including system checks, inspections, and servicing
  • Respond to reactive maintenance tasks such as leaks, blockages, and system faults
  • Diagnose and repair faults across plumbing, heating, and water hygiene systems
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and support inventory management
  • Support general site operations by ensuring systems remain safe, compliant, and fully operational

Please note that this position involves manual work. This could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time. The role is based onsite at Chatham, and the set working times are Monday to Friday 08:00 to 16:30, totalling 40 hours per week. Overtime is available.

Essential experience of the Plumber:

  • Demonstrable plumbing experience, ideally within a commercial or facilities environment
  • Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance
  • Ability to fault find and repair a range of mechanical and plumbing systems
  • Strong understanding of health and safety and compliance standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Qualifications for the Plumber:

  • Relevant plumbing qualification
  • Full UK driving licence

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions. Your eligibility may be affected by place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.
