The role:

As a Fleet Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the London Fire Brigade by ensuring their vehicles and operational equipment are expertly specified, manufactured, and maintained to meet critical operational standards. • Supporting the Engineering Manager and deputising when required
• Compiling technical documentation including bulletins, inspection guides, and operator handbooks
• Acting as the focal point for Engineering queries across departments
• Designing and implementing solutions to reduce defects and improve performance
• Attending client meetings and leading continuous improvement initiatives

This role is full time, 40 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home. Business demands may require 5 days per week on site during busy periods.

Essential experience:

• Experience with emergency services vehicles and equipment operations or maintenance
• Fleet Engineering experience
• Familiarity with Tranman fleet management software
• Supervisory experience in a technical environment

Qualifications:

• Heavy Goods Vehicle apprenticeship or equivalent experience
• City and Guilds Parts 1, 2 and 3 or equivalent

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
