The role:
- As a Financial Accountant, you'll play a vital role in supporting the financial management of major defence and infrastructure programmes.
- Working within the finance function, you'll provide accurate reporting, insight and control over capital expenditure and fixed assets, helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently and in line with financial and regulatory requirements.
- Day-to-day, you'll have an exciting opportunity to build strong relationships across the business, working closely with project managers and stakeholders to provide financial clarity and support decision-making.
- You'll gain exposure to complex programmes and contribute to the long‑term performance and sustainability of critical national infrastructure.
Key responsibilities:
- Managing and monitoring capital expenditure, ensuring accurate recording and reconciliation of transactions.
- Preparing financial reports on capital projects and fixed assets, including monthly and annual reporting.
- Supporting audits by providing documentation, analysis and insight into financial performance.
- Collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to forecast costs and track project budgets.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and internal financial controls.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience:
- Experience working with financial data, reporting, and analysis in a finance or accounting environment.
- Strong data analysis skills and ability to manage large data sets.
- Competency in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
- Good communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
- Understanding of capital expenditure processes or project finance principles is desirable but not essential.
Qualifications:
- AAT qualification or Finance‑related degree - Essential.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
