The role:
As an Environmental and Sustainability Practitioner, you'll play a key role in driving environmental excellence across a diverse portfolio of construction projects and estate management activities at Devonport Royal Dockyard. This is an exciting opportunity to influence sustainability strategy, reduce environmental risk, and help shape the standards that support one of the UK's most significant engineering and infrastructure sites.
Day-to-day, you’ll be required to:
- Support construction and estate management teams to reduce environmental risk and improve sustainability performance.
- Manage environmental permits, licences and compliance requirements across facilities and operations.
- Undertake environmental assurance activities and monitoring adherence to standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement governance frameworks that enhance environmental protection and sustainability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive continual improvement across projects and estate operations.
This role is 35 hours per week based onsite at Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth.
Essential experience:
- Experience working within a construction or Construction Design and Management environment.
- Practitioner membership of the Institute of Sustainability and Environmental Professionals.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- Level 6 qualification in Environmental Management, Sustainability Management or a related discipline.
- Level 3 qualification in Health and Safety Management.
Advantageous:
- BREEAM or DREAM experience.
- Internal Auditor (ISO 14001) qualification.
- Environmental investigation training.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
