The role
As an Electrical Designer, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to deliver cutting edge electrical systems for naval platforms. You’ll contribute to the design and development of new and modified systems, specialising in alterations and additions that support the Royal Navy’s operational capabilities. This is a role where your expertise will directly impact national defence and maritime innovation, while offering you the chance to grow your career in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Day-to-day, you’ll deliver high quality electrical designs and CAD models, interpret technical requirements, update ship documentation and collaborate across Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and production readiness.
- Producing electrical drawings for production and updating ship datum packs
- Supporting design projects across the full engineering lifecycle
- Reviewing and interpreting technical information and requirements
- Creating CAD models and engineering designs to recognised standards
- Collaborating with Design, Safety and Engineering teams to ensure functionality and integration
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Electrical Designer
- Background in electrical engineering design
- Strong understanding of electrical design principles and practices
- Ability to interpret and produce structural drawings and models
- Proven team player with excellent collaboration skills across technical disciplines
Qualifications for the Electrical Designer
- National Certificate (or BTEC Level 3), Apprenticeship qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering subject
- Candidates with demonstrable experience in a relevant field will also be considered
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
