The role:

  • As an Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Production Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in delivering specialist electrical and electronic equipment used within highly regulated nuclear environments.
  • Creating production plans and SAP routings covering assembly, inspection and testing activities.
  • Supporting technicians with the assembly, wiring and testing of electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Delivering toolbox talks and promoting learning from experience activities across the production environment.
  • Investigating faults, identifying root causes and producing detailed technical reports and recommendations.
  • Driving continuous improvement activities to maximise efficiency, quality and operational performance.

This role is based at Whetstone, Leicester. You will work 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 07:30‑16:15 and Friday 07:30‑12:00. Occasional travel to customer and subcontractor sites will be expected.

Essential experience of the EC&I Production Engineer:

  • Experience working within a highly regulated production, manufacturing, assembly or test environment.
  • Experience producing engineering documentation, manufacturing instructions or production plans.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Material Requirements Planning software, ideally SAP.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and Lean manufacturing practices.
  • Ability to investigate technical faults and provide effective engineering solutions.

Qualifications for the EC&I Production Engineer:

  • Higher National Certificate in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline with significant relevant industry experience.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
