The role
As an Assistant Package Manager - Mechanical Services Integration, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of complex infrastructure projects that enable the Royal Navy’s submarine maintenance operations. You’ll work closely with internal and external stakeholders to manage scope, requirements, programme, risk, and contract elements, ensuring successful project outcomes. Day-to-day, you’ll be part of a team that’s shaping the future of defence engineering, with clear pathways for career progression and professional development.
- Applying configuration and change control to design packages
- Managing planning, monitoring and control of work packages delivered by internal and external teams
- Forecasting costs and monitoring/reporting against budget
- Facilitating, developing, and agreeing requirements, project scope and solutions for design and physical works phases
- Contributing to risk management, including identification, assessment and implementation of mitigations
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
Essential experience of the Assistant Package Manager - Mechanical Services Integration
- Experience with engineering systems within scope
- Project delivery experience in a Nuclear Licensed Site environment (preferred)
- Technical governance and configuration management through construction and change control
- Management of NEC4 suite of contracts (ECC & PSC options A, C & E)
- Familiarity with CEMAR software and BIM in project delivery (preferred)
Qualifications for the Assistant Package Manager - Mechanical Services Integration
- Minimum HNC/HND (or equivalent) in project management, engineering or business management
- APMQ project management qualification (or equivalent)
- NEC contract management qualification or recognised training (preferred)
- IOSH certification (preferred)
