The Role
As a Vehicle Mechanic, you'll be part of a skilled and dedicated team responsible for maintaining and repairing military vehicles and electrical equipment. Your work will directly support the UK's defence capability-making this a career with real purpose and impact. From diagnostics to inspections, you'll ensure our fleet is ready for action while developing your own skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Day-to-day you'll be:
- Servicing, repairing, and overhauling military vehicles and electrical systems
- Diagnosing, inspecting, and assessing vehicles and associated equipment
- Completing documentation and test certificates to current standards
- Ensuring correct use of stores and returning unused or faulty items
- Creating job cards and requesting materials using ERP (SAP) systems
Please note that the successful candidate will be required to pass a targeted medical questionnaire and/or medical examination as a condition of employment for this role. This position involves manual work, which could include lifting, bending, using tools or standing for extended periods of time. This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based onsite at Warminster. A relocation package may be available, subject to eligibility.
Essential experience of the Vehicle Mechanic:
- Previous experience in a similar mechanical role
- Hydraulics experience
- Experience in a dealership or local garage
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to adapt and build rapport across teams
Qualifications for the Vehicle Mechanic:
- NVQ Level 3 in Service and Repair
- Security Clearance - The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
