As a Commercial Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. Joining our Mission System sector, a critical and growing part of our business; specifically, you'll be working within our Effectors business unit to drive the business and Dreadnought contract forward. Day-to-day, you'll be providing contract management and governance support to the project team; as well as undertaking negotiations and pricing activities in support of organic or new growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute commercial strategies to achieve success.
  • Be a mentor and guide to other commercial staff, sharing best practice, advice and recommendations to commercial scenarios.
  • Act as the commercial point of contact for all queries from the project team.
  • Lead a team of commercial staff across a range of Support contracts.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and requires regular travel to our Ashton Vale, Bristol site on a weekly / monthly basis alongside home working arrangements.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of single source contracts is highly desirable but not required.
  • Commercially driven, as well as possessing the ability to identify commercial innovation with a good business awareness of customers and competitors.
  • Experience in the creation of proposals whether as organic growth or for new opportunities.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing and understanding contracts ideally in the defence sector, but this is not essential.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines critical to our customer's mission.
  • Ideally, you will hold a recognised relevant professional qualification (Membership of Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS), International Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM), Post Graduate Certificate in Commercial Management (PGCCM)) or equivalent / similar, but this is not essential.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
