The role

As a Driver, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will perform driving duties in compliance with Road Traffic Legislation, Transport Law, and Service Publications. Operate within a 24/7 Mechanical Transport department, supporting on‑base duty tasks through a rotational shift system and delivering a comprehensive transport service to the customer. This role is full time working 38.5 hours per week and is based on site at RAF Northolt, Greater London. The role offers a potential remuneration of up to £37,133.22 with allowances for shift work.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities

  • Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks in accordance with specified standards and operational requirements.
  • Ensure all driver and vehicle documentation is accurately completed in line with relevant transport service publications.
  • Maintain compliance with safety, legal, and operational guidelines for fleet readiness.
  • Report any vehicle defects or discrepancies promptly to support efficient maintenance and service continuity.

Essential experience

  • HGV/Coach driving experience.

Qualifications

  • Possess a full, clean UK driving licence with entitlement for categories B, C, and D.
  • Hold a DVSA Category D licence with no more than three active penalty points.
  • Certified with a valid Driver Qualification Card (CPC), including LGV and PSV credentials.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
