As a Global Engineering Capability Lead – Processes, you will take on a high‑impact leadership role within our Group Engineering and Technology function. This opportunity allows you to shape how engineering is delivered across Babcock globally by defining, developing and embedding world‑class processes that enable our teams to deliver complex programmes in defence, aerospace and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and implementation of global engineering processes across the organisation.
  • Design system architectures that integrate engineering with project management, quality and supply‑chain functions.
  • Create and roll out training programmes such as the Global Engineering Framework and Product Lifecycle processes.
  • Embed consistent, high‑quality engineering standards across sectors and international operations.
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to influence change and deliver measurable improvements.

This role is full‑time, 37.5 hours per week. It can be based at one of our main UK locations – Warrington, Bristol, Devonport, Leicester or Rosyth. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience delivering projects and business transformation in large, complex engineering organisations.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design lifecycle processes within regulated environments.
  • Experience building and maintaining effective relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple levels.
  • Application of systems engineering principles to deliver robust engineering solutions.
  • Excellent communication of complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification aligned to professional engineering standards.
  • Eligibility for professional registration or membership (e.g. Chartered Engineer).
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
  • Additional training in engineering, technical or management disciplines (systems engineering preferred).

Security Clearance

Successful candidates must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
