The Role
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to deliver high-quality, mission-critical products and services to our defence customers. This is your opportunity to make a real impact—ensuring that everything we deliver meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You’ll be part of a collaborative Quality team embedded within our Programme Delivery and Manufacturing functions, helping to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Day to day you’ll be required to:
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of products and services.
- Manage the non-conformance process, driving root cause analysis and preventative actions.
- Oversee and sign off delivery processes to assure customer requirements are met.
- Analyse and report on quality performance data to support ‘right first time’ outcomes.
- Lead investigations into quality issues using tools like 8D, FMEA, and 5 Whys.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Ashton Vale, Bristol.
Essential Experience of the Senior Quality Engineer
- Proven experience in a quality engineering role within a relevant industry.
- Strong understanding of quality across the full product or service lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience auditing ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Demonstrated success in implementing quality improvements and cultural change.
- Proficiency in quality tools and problem-solving techniques (e.g. APQP, Pareto, FMEA, 8D).
Qualifications for the Senior Quality Engineer
- ISO 9001 Auditor qualification preferred (training can be provided).
- ONC, HNC, or NVQ Level 3 in a quality, science, or engineering discipline desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
