The role:
- Support governance, risk and compliance activities across Mission Systems, working closely with the Information Security Manager to promote best practice, improve security awareness and help build a positive security culture.
- Support the ongoing alignment of the Information Security Management System and ISO 27001 certification requirements.
- Lead on coordinating, managing, and running the internal audit programme in support of the Information Security Management System.
- Track audit findings and drive timely follow-up actions and remediation activities.
- Assist with security training, education and awareness initiatives across the business.
- Provide guidance on information security risks, policies, documentation and Information Asset Owner responsibilities.
The role is 37 hours per week, and is based at our Ashton Vale, Bristol Site. Hybrid working patterns are available, and some travel to other Babcock sites may be required.
Essential experience:
- Experience working within an information security, governance, risk, compliance or IT environment.
- Exposure to structured governance frameworks such as ISO 27001 or similar compliance standards.
- Understanding of core information security principles, including risk awareness and data handling practices.
- Experience maintaining accurate records, documentation and compliance-related information.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Qualifications:
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISMP, ISO27001 foundation) would be advantageous but not essential.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
