The role is your opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a flagship nuclear new-build programme that will play a critical role in the United Kingdom's energy future. Working as part of the Hinkley Point C Commissioning Alliance, you'll help drive complex commissioning work from planning through to delivery, gaining invaluable experience on one of the largest engineering and infrastructure projects in Europe.

Day-to-day, you'll be required to:

  • Support the Project Manager to deliver commissioning activities in line with safety, quality, schedule and cost objectives.
  • Define work scope, coordinate interfaces and ensure effective project execution across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Prepare, maintain and review project documentation, plans, contractor submissions and technical drawings.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks and issues, and provide accurate reports to key stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings and ensure contractual, regulatory, environmental and quality requirements are achieved.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset. The role is primarily site-based, with flexibility to work across project offices when required. Travel to other Babcock and customer sites will be expected.

Essential experience of the Senior Project Engineer (Commissioning):

  • Quality leadership experience within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry.
  • Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing and construction projects.
  • Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing quality professionals.
  • Experience managing supplier quality activities and working directly with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and quality governance principles.

Qualifications for the Senior Project Engineer (Commissioning):

  • Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or a related discipline.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK national and able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
