The role:
- Provide leadership, strategic oversight, and operational discipline to deliver complex rail frameworks and projects safely, efficiently, and profitably.
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary project management team to deliver frameworks and contracts safely and efficiently.
- Oversee programme-level planning, including resource allocation, risk management, and change control.
- Maintain strong client relationships and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all SQE, legal, and accreditation requirements.
- Provide programme-level reporting across commercial, financial, and delivery performance.
This role is full time working 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home. Occasional travel to other Babcock and customer sites may be required.
Essential experience of the Programme Manager:
- Extensive managerial experience at a senior level within a rail project delivery environment.
- Strong knowledge of processes, operational and associated safety matters.
Qualifications for the Programme Manager:
- Member of a relevant professional body (e.g., Association for Project Management) with chartered status and/or degree-level education.
