The role involves delivering safe, airworthy and mission‑ready aircraft for our customer. Working within a highly skilled aviation team, you'll lead engineering maintenance activities, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the release to service of aircraft in a fast‑paced operational environment.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference, applying your expertise across line and depth maintenance activities while helping to support future defence capability. You'll be part of an experienced team responsible for generating safe, serviceable aircraft in line with regulatory requirements and customer expectations.

Day-to-day, you will be:

  • Leading aircraft maintenance activities and supervising technicians and inspectors
  • Ensuring all engineering work is completed in accordance with aviation regulations and company procedures
  • Certifying and releasing aircraft to service following maintenance activities
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and airworthiness across all engineering tasks
  • Collaborating with customers, operational teams and engineering stakeholders to deliver serviceable aircraft.

This role is based on site at RNAS Yeovilton and is a full‑time position working 40 hours per week on a 4-in-7 shift pattern, including weekends.

Essential experience of the Licensed Aircraft Engineer:

  • Demonstrable aircraft engineering experience within a regulated aviation environment
  • Proven ability to lead and support teams during maintenance activities
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while adapting to changing priorities
  • Excellent planning, organisation and decision‑making capabilities.

Qualifications for the Licensed Aircraft Engineer:

  • CAA Part 66 B1.2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence
  • Supervisory experience within an aviation environment
  • Ability to demonstrate the practical and theoretical standards required for the role
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Strong understanding of customer and contract partnering arrangements.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
