As an Assistant Building Custodian, you will play a key role in supporting the safe, efficient operation of essential facilities used in defence and engineering environments. This hands‑on role ensures buildings, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards. The role is based onsite at Bovington. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (40 hours per week).
Responsibilities
- Open and close buildings, ensuring all areas are secure and operational
- Report and record building faults, maintenance needs, and infrastructure issues
- Carry out regular fire safety checks, including alarms and extinguishers
- Control keys and manage access to internal and external training areas
- Support equipment checks, stock control, and maintain accurate records and databases
Qualifications
- Demonstrating experience in stores, facilities support, or similar operational environments
- Using Microsoft Office or similar systems to maintain records and databases
- Deliver strong customer service and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence, Category B minimum
- Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
