The role:

  • As an Appian Developer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary.
  • You'll play a leading role in designing, developing and delivering high performing Appian applications that underpin mission critical services.
  • You'll work on complex systems that support defence and engineering programmes, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and mentoring developers along the way.
  • Day-to-day, you'll be required to do requirement reviews, technical design, software development, unit testing and deployment of new applications as well as continual improvement to existing applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design complex process models and sophisticated user interfaces which are scalable and optimized.
  • Mentor the junior members of the team and review their code, enforce design patterns and provide technical guidance.
  • Work with business analysts and other stakeholders and assist in refinement and effort estimations.
  • Ensure software development is undertaken in accordance with IT quality, plan and procedures.
  • Undertake unit testing to verify developed software performs in accordance with the supporting requirements.
  • Attend workshops / reviews / stand-ups to discuss the development project, demonstrate progress to date and communicate with project stakeholders.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation to support the completed application.

This role is full time working 35 hours per week, based in Leicester, Leicestershire or Bristol. Hybrid working patterns are available, with working two days in the office.

Essential experience of the Appian Developer:

  • Hands on experience with Appian Platform.
  • Active Appian Certified Senior Developer certification is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of waterfall, iterative and agile approaches to software delivery.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be a sole UK National who is able to achieve and Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
