The role
- As an Aircraft Maintenance Inspector, you'll play a vital role in ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest safety and regulatory standards.
- Working alongside Licensed Aircraft Engineers, you'll contribute to flight‑line operations, maintenance activities, and engineering assurance, supporting critical aviation capability.
- Carry out scheduled and corrective aircraft maintenance activities.
- Support flight‑line operations including aircraft preparation, daily servicing, and turnaround.
- Inspect and certify maintenance work in line with regulatory and company standards.
- Complete all maintenance documentation accurately in line with procedures and legislation.
- Provide technical support and work collaboratively with engineering teams and stakeholders.
This is a full‑time role (40 hours per week) based at RAF Benson. Shift patterns for this role are 4 × 10‑hour days.
Essential experience of the Aircraft Maintenance Inspector
- Experience working within a military or civilian Part 145 environment.
- Strong background in aircraft maintenance and flight‑line operations.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and complete documentation accurately.
- Experience supporting or supervising engineering or technician teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders.
Qualifications for the Aircraft Maintenance Inspector
- Recognised aircraft apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Military or civil aircraft engineering experience is desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
