About Us: At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. You can join us as a Senior Safety Case Engineer within our Business Winning team at one of our main sites: Warrington, Preston, Leicester, Newbury or Bristol.

The Role: As a Senior Safety Case Engineer within our Business Winning, you’ll bring your deep safety case knowledge to the early phases of project development. This is a full‑time role based at one of our main sites: Warrington, Preston, Leicester, Newbury or Bristol with travel to other Cavendish Nuclear and customer locations as required. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Day-to-day you’ll be required to:

  • Lead safety‑case contributions to major bids.
  • Develop safety case scopes, schedules, and verification plans.
  • Produce and review safety case documentation and technical reports.
  • Support hazard identification and risk assessment processes.
  • Promote collaboration and continuous improvement.

Essential experience:

  • Proven experience within a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience contributing to safety case documentation.
  • Understanding of ALARP principles and ONR Safety Assessment Principles.
  • Ability to prepare technical analyses and safety submissions.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or engineering discipline.

Security Clearance: The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
