The role

As a Security Assurance Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Babcock’s information systems and services. This is an exciting opportunity to influence national security projects, support digital transformation, and ensure compliance with critical standards.

Day-to-day, your work will make a real difference protecting sensitive data and enabling secure operations across defence, aerospace, and engineering.

  • Lead and coordinate security assurance activities across multiple business units.
  • Interpret and apply standards such as JSP , NIST SP -/53, ISO , DefStan 05-, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
  • Prepare and maintain security documentation, including SyOps, Information Security Management Plan(s) (ISMP), and Risk Assessments.
  • Represent Babcock in assurance engagements with MOD authorities, customers, and auditors.
  • Deliver risk-based assessments for IT change, cloud adoption, and digital transformation initiatives
  • This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with days onsite and days working from home.

    Essential experience of the Security Assurance Manager

  • Proven experience in information security assurance or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of technical risk assessment methodologies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with UK Government classification and MoD assurance standards.
  • Analytical skills to assess complex systems and identify security implications.
  • Qualifications for the Security Assurance Manager

  • Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Information Security, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISMP or ISO Lead Auditor (preferred).
  • Security Clearance

    The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) and if necessary Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance for this role. You must also be a British National.
