The role involves transforming complex customer needs into clear, deliverable solutions and building robust, evidence-based cost models to help win work and deliver value for money. This position offers visible impact and influence, shaping a major opportunity pipeline, developing commercial skills, and working across bids, operations, and finance.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Leading the creation of operationally deliverable, commercially sound solutions aligned to customer requirements and contract constraints.
- Translating customer needs into clear work packages with defined activities, resources, dependencies, and risks.
- Developing traceable, evidence-based cost estimates and breakdowns using recognised cost-engineering methodologies.
- Collaborating with Finance and Commercial teams to ensure cost builds align with pricing strategy and margin expectations.
- Presenting solution outputs clearly through process flows, impact assessments, risk documentation, and cost models for governance approvals.
This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, Monday–Friday, based at Warminster. Hybrid working patterns are available, with an expectation of around three days a week on site to collaborate.
Essential experience:
- Background in project management and bids within complex or regulated environments.
- Practical experience in cost estimating or cost engineering.
- Ability to transform requirements into structured and implementable work packages.
- Strong stakeholder engagement across operational, commercial, and financial teams.
- Confidence preparing and delivering clear solution documentation for review and approval.
Qualifications:
- Education to NQF Level 4, such as a Higher Apprenticeship, HNC or Level 4 NVQ, or equivalent experience.
- A relevant technical or vocational qualification equivalent to NQF Level 3.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A Project Management qualification is preferred.
Security Clearance:
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Many positions within the company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
