The role
As a Material Planner, you’ll develop your career within defence, aerospace and engineering, supporting programme continuity, risk reduction and on‑time delivery in complex supply chain environments.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:
- Support material enablement for maintenance and contract change activity
- Complete material assessments in line with policy, process and delivery schedules
- Monitor material data to identify risks, delays or dependencies early
- Maintain accurate material reporting within SAP and MJDI systems
- Advise on escalation routes and relief claims where material authority dependencies arise
Essential experience of the Material Planner
- Experience using NEPTUNE SAP in at least one functional area
- Knowledge of Ministry of Defence supply chain processes for consumable and repairable items
- Experience supporting material management or planning activity in an operational environment
- Ability to work with data sets to identify issues and support informed decision‑making
- Confidence working collaboratively with stakeholders across operations and planning teams
